Afghanistan has experienced a century of frequent state breakdowns, each resulting in instability within the country as well as threatening the security of the wider region. Afghanistan’s system of government, therefore, is in desperate need of a reset. Mosaic’s flagship project, the Cambridge Massoud Conference (CMC), aka Cambridge Afghan Series (CAS), explores new approaches for Afghanistan’s state, governance and administrative system that will appropriately consider the ground realities of a multi-ethnic and socio-politically divided country.
